Hi everyone,
I can successfully control stepper motor with my DIO card. But few days ago I get an encoder and tried to connect it with my stepper motor and PCI 6533 as shown in figure below. Then I used MAX`s Test Panels to verify signal`s changes. Outputs worked perfectly but according to inputs...there was no reaction. As I checked it with LPT, everythig seemed to work OK. I used the same optocouples for inputs as for outputs. Is anybody able to tell me where I made mistake ?? :smileysad:

Anything you could tell me would be very helpful.

Thank you

- Add a resistor (eg 10k) between the output of the LM7805 (+5V) and the outputs of the optocouplers :
- +5V -10k- P0.0
- +5V -10k- P0.1
- +5V -10k- P0.2
- Ensure that the outputs of the encoder are able to provide enough current (about Uout - 1.2 / 470) to drive the optocouplers.
And alternative to the 12V power supply + LM7805 voltage regulator would be to use the +5V on pin 1 of the DIO card.

I forgot to connect +5V with D PULL :smileymad: Now everything seems to work OK.
The thread is closed I think ;)
