Hi Jeff:
I encountered a similar but worse situation: My PC and the cards are both new, after installing the LabVIEW and the DAQmx 8.0.1, I installed the PCI6503. After power on, the XP prompted "Newhardware detected...", and I followed the hardware wizard and put the DAQmx 8.0.1 CD...then the XP prompted new hardware has a problem and cannot work. I have noticed that: This same PCI6503 can be installed on the other PC and has been working well. A working PCI 6503 on the other PC also can not be installed on the new PC.
Look forward to your advice.
Thanks!

Hi WMZ,

Are you using DAQmx 8.0.1 or LabVIEW 8.0.1?  You can check what version of DAQmx is
installed on your computer under the software tab through Measurement &
Automation Explorer (MAX).

Are you able to see the PCI-6503 in device manager?  Does it show up with a yellow exclamation
point or question mark?  If it does not
have this icon, then Windows is able to see it correctly.  This means that the problem lies with the
driver.  If this icon is next to the device,
then there is a problem with Windows identifying the device.

The driver may not have been installed correctly.  You might want to reinstall or repair the
driver.  If you are using DAQmx 8.0.1, I
would suggest upgrading to DAQmx 8.5 <a href="http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/websearch/e2c96196892a649d86257291004f8edc" target="_blank">here</a>. &nbsp;

What type of computer do you have?&nbsp; There have been some issues with certain
motherboards and our PCI devices.&nbsp; This
is a known issue with certain computers; you can find a workaround <a href="http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/F69AB8D3B7C0261F8625723E007205FF?OpenDocument" target="_blank">here</a> to
solve this issue.
