Hi Jono,
Officially, NI only support the following distributions of Linux: (see <a href="http://www.ni.com/linux/support.htm" target="_blank">http://www.ni.com/linux/support.htm</a>)
- Mandrakelinux 10.0 Official
- Mandrakelinux 10.1 Official
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 3
- SUSE LINUX Professional 9.1
- SUSE LINUX Professional 9.2

Also, look at this link for using NI-DAQmx 8.0 under Linux (<a href="http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3695" target="_blank">http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3695</a>)
However, I have found another forum, where a user has managed to get the NI-DAQmx driver installed and running on some Slackware systems, and he has posted instructions on how to do this. So you might be able to work out how to get this working from this.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.
